FULL BODY DETOX- SEMI FAIL

My beloveds!

I must apologize for falling off the face of the earth. I am HORRIBLE with Social Media, let alone blogging. Once Life really gets going, I find it very hard to stop “living” to document my every step and experiences. In any case, I am not one to start something and not finish. So I’m back! To catch you up to speed, I’ve been focusing on my health these last few months and I’m definitely reaping the benefits of my hard work. Although I didn’t quite make it to the finish line, I must say that I am proud of my achievements thus far.

So here’s the update. May 1st, I began a Full Body Detox that was recommended by my favorite herbalist Djehuty. I simply purchased the detox through his online store dhealthstore.com and received the package in a few days. Djehuty is amazing! I can’t even began to explain, so I’ll save that for another post. To make a very long story short, the detox consisted of 6 formula capsules and a jar of activated charcoal. Each capsule formula targets a particular vital organ (heart, lungs, liver, etc.) and helps the body release all of the toxins that we’ve accumulated through our diet and environment. It’s a great detox, but I must share my hiccups during my experience.

Challenge #1: Consuming 5 capsules per formula everyday. Yes, you read correctly. That 30 capsules everyday, in addition to drinking activated charcoal before bedtime. Whew! For some of you, this may be a piece of cake. But if you’re like me, who has always struggled taking ONE pill/capsule, 30 was a great feat! Nonetheless, I got through it.

Challenge #2: All Raw diet. Now he does mention that you can consume a very light cooked meal for dinner. I sometimes did this for lunch or dinner, but not everyday. So how did I do? I lasted 10 days.(Sigh) I didn’t make it the full 20 days, but I can definitely see a difference in my skin, hair, & nails and overall health. Imagine, if I ever had an issue drinking half my body weight (converted to ounces) in water, that no longer was a problem. Those 30 capsules kept me drinking enough to keep my body fully hydrated.

Challenge #3 is pretty obvious. It’s a Detox for a reason, so get ready to take a shit 2-3 times a day! You will develop an intimate bond with your toilet. Enough said.

So, here’s my recommendations if you choose to look into this fabulous detox.

  1. Start eating 75-80% raw before the detox to help your body and palate get accustomed to the dietary changes.
  2. Stock up on alot of fruits. They’re great for supplementing the detox herbs and are packed with lots of calories to keep you energized. Not to mention, they’re easily consume. Wash & Eat.
  3. Avoid social events like the plague. Nothing helps you break a fast then a night on the town. Sorry, you may need to be a social hermit for a bit. The temptation will deem to intense to resist.
  4. Or, detox with others. The support system will help you stay on track and you’ll find new ways/recipes to improve your detox.
  5. SMOOTHIES! Drinking your fruits & veggies are an easy way to sneak them in. I added kale or spinach in all my fruit smoothies.
  6. Do your research. What helped me alot was keeping my mind focus on my goal. Watch/Read any educational material about health & nutrition. It’ll give you a boost of motivation when you need a re-focus or reminder of why you’re punishing yourself. J/K.
  7. Last, give yourself a break. Don’t be too hard on yourself! Rome wasn’t built in day. If you fall off. Find your way back and keep it moving. I’m planning on completing my additional 10 days when I’m ready. Each step towards good health counts!

Saúde!
